Child Sexual Exploitation Investigations

The Child Sexual Exploitation Section has the overall responsibility as the Provincial lead in such investigations, and investigates/prosecutes those persons who are responsible for making, importing, exporting, selling, distributing, accessing and possession of child pornography in the Province of Ontario. The Child Sexual Exploitation Section assists other Police Services that do not have the technical resources/expertise to properly conduct 'Child Sexual Exploitation' investigations in their areas of jurisdiction.

The Child Sexual Exploitation Section also is responsible for the enforcement of the new 'Child Luring' legislation and considers these investigations as a priority.

The Child Sexual Exploitation Section provides advisory assistance to Police Agencies and Crown Counsel across Canada.

Training is also provided to law enforcement officers attending the Ontario Police College, the Ontario Provincial Police College and the Canadian Police College. Select public presentations are also given upon request.
