There are three key business areas in the bureau that support the OPP in achieving both people strength and business objectives.
Uniform Recruitment provides outreach and selection services for uniform recruitment and administrative support for uniform deployment. This section attracts and selects the best available recruits and undertakes to reach out to new candidate pools in support of diversity, renewal and revitalization.
HR Services Unit provides ongoing human resources support, consultation and administrative services to the organization.
Staffing and Workforce Planning Unit is responsible for development and implementation of human resources programs that enhance the capacity of the people in the organization to deliver on business objectives.
Provincial Police Academy
Since 1909, the Provincial Police Academy has distinguished itself as the Ontario Provincial Police training provider and a center of police training excellence in the Province of Ontario. The mission of the Provincial Police Academy is to provide current, relevant and essential law enforcement training, education and development from basic to advanced levels. Offering both full-time and in-service training programs, the Academy trains dedicated people who are entering the field of law enforcement for the first time and advanced training to those already experienced in law enforcement. Members from other police services who are interested in attending courses provided by the Provincial Police Academy are invited to contact the Registrar (e-mail:firstname.lastname@example.org) for a list of courses and availability.
