OPP Chorus
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chorus, under the current music director, Mrs. Carolyn Hill was formed in 1998. The Chorus membership is primarily made up of volunteer friends of the OPP as well as present and former civilian and uniformed personnel.
Their mandate expresses "Police and Community-On the Same Beat" as they attempt to spread goodwill through song throughout the Province. The Chorus has a history of performances at various venues, including the police memorials, held annually in Toronto and Ottawa. Other venues have included various fundraisers for churches, nursing homes, community charities, corporate meetings, anniversaries and fall fairs.
The Chorus has a broad repertoire of music, including gospel, Broadway hits, sacred and non-sacred, pops, anthems and ballads. They also have included a special Christmas program, which includes both Hymns as well as special Christmas songs.
It should be evident from such a broad range of music, that they love to sing, and are usually able to include something for everyone in their programs.
Requests for performances should be made by the summer for the following performance year. Outdoor performance schedule runs from May to October. All performance requests are to be directed to:
