Charmaine Tomlinson

"... Living the dream ..."

My name is Charmaine Tomlinson. I am married and have two wonderful sons. Family is very important to me. It is through my family I find a balance. They are very supportive and proud of the job I do which makes my work easier when I am away from them.

I enjoy traveling with my family; it gives us the opportunity to spend quality time together. Time especially with my two sons is something I cherish very much; I always organize my schedule around them so that I am able to attend their activities. Not only do I like to be there for my children but I feel it is my duty as a parent.

I am currently an O.P.P Constable working at Highway Safety Division. I have always dreamt of becoming a police officer. I feel very blessed knowing that I have achieved my long awaited goal. I am very passionate about the work I do as a police officer within the O.P.P and am very proud to serve the Province of Ontario. When I put my uniform on, not only do I earn respect from the public I serve, but I also give respect in return.

Volunteering plays a big part in my life. I like to give a helping hand back to the community. It is always important to never forget where you came from. I presently volunteer my time speaking to students in school in the Toronto area when possible.

Many police officers within the O.P.P organization have said to me. "Never forget why you joined the O.P.P, and never loose the feeling you had when you were first hired." Well I have not, because I am living the dream.
